Getting the best return on my time in a day.
I was recently on a run, in the woods, alone.
This really allowed me to reflect on my day and what I do, or should I say; how I spent my time.
Mindlessly spending time on my phone, engaging in pointless arguments, evaporating my time on YouTube on content I don’t even really enjoy.
So, I stopped and thought of ways I could better manage my time, to build my brand, stay focused on fitness, learn new things, and read more. These are things I truly like and will pay the best dividends.
I needed a way to manage my time, I needed steps to take to make sure no second in my day went wasted. Instantly, I started thinking of ways to stop wasting my time, coming up with systems, methods, and the best tools to cut the garbage out of my life.
Well, I did just that.
I want to share the 5 solutions I came up with which has helped me personally stop wasting time and I am more than positive it will do the same for you.
Prioritize Task
One of the key factors that contribute to time wastage is an inability to prioritize tasks effectively. In today's fast-paced world, our to-do lists can be never-ending, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and unable to focus on our most important tasks. Prioritizing your tasks is essential if you want to achieve your goals, and it can help you to avoid wasting precious time on tasks that aren't bringing you closer to your desired outcome. A great way to begin prioritizing your tasks is to start by making a list of everything you need to get done (Which has helped me tremendously). Then, prioritize those items based on their level of importance and urgency. By doing this, you can ensure that you're spending your time on the most important tasks and that you're making progress towards your goals. Remember, time is your most valuable asset, and it's up to you to use it wisely.
Destroy Distractions
TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, all mindless and pointless activities that you engage in daily which are wasting your time. DESTROY THEM! One of the biggest obstacles to maximizing productivity is the constant bombardment of distractions that we face every day. In today's digital age, social media is often the biggest culprit. We all know how easily a quick scroll through Facebook or Instagram can turn into a half-hour (or more) time sink, leaving us feeling unfulfilled and frustrated. The truth is, these platforms are deliberately designed to be addictive and keep our attention, but the good news is that there are steps to resist their pull. Start by setting boundaries - allocate specific times of the day for checking social media or disable notifications altogether, better yet, delete them… Focus on engaging in activities that you enjoy and that bring you closer to your goals instead of mindlessly scrolling through feeds that offer little to no value. Remember, time is our most valuable asset, and by eliminating distractions, we can reclaim control over our lives.
NEVER Procrastinate
Procrastination is a habit that everyone is guilty of, at some point in their lives. It's natural to want to put off tasks that we don't enjoy or find challenging, but unfortunately, this habit can lead to missed opportunities and unfulfilled goals. The good news is that there are practical strategies you can adopt to never procrastinate again. Firstly, break tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks. This will reduce the overwhelm that comes with tackling a large project. Secondly, set clear, specific goals and deadlines for yourself. This will give you a greater sense of purpose and urgency. Finally, remember that perfectionism is often a driver of procrastination, so aim for progress, not perfection. Start incorporating these strategies into your daily life. Trust me, it is worth it.
Daily Reflection
The most effective technique to stop wasting time is to do daily reflections. Reflection allows you to look back at what you have achieved, what you have learned, and what you need to do in order to move forward. It also helps you to see patterns in your behavior, both positive and negative, so that you can make adjustments and optimize your time. According to research, taking time to reflect can also enhance emotional intelligence, increase creativity, and improve decision-making skills. By taking just a few minutes each day to reflect on your activities and accomplishments, you will be able to fine-tune your daily routine and better focus your efforts on activities that bring you closer to your goals. So why not start today? Make it a habit to reflect on a daily basis and watch as your productivity and overall sense of fulfillment begin to soar.
Clearing Your Vision
Finally, in order to stop wasting time and achieve the best returns out of life, you need to have a clear vision of what you want to accomplish. A clear vision acts as a roadmap for your life, guiding your decisions and actions towards achieving your goals. Without a clear vision, you risk getting lost in distractions and wasting your time on things that don't align with your goals. To make a clear vision, start by identifying your values, strengths, and passion. Ask yourself what you want to achieve in life and what kind of impact you want to make. Write down your goals. Keep your vision visible and review it regularly to stay focused and motivated. Remember that a clear vision is not just about achieving your goals, but also about living a purposeful and fulfilling life.

With these steps I have recently been able to more often get into a ‘Deep Work’ state. In addition, I have seen improvements in my energy and having more fulfilling workouts. I encourage you to try these methods and get the benefits for yourself as well. So, coming to the end of this writing I want to ask you, will you keep wasting your time or will you finally go achieve your goals?
